"Talent is a gift, but your attitude, work ethic, and character are things you have to develop yourself" Rebekah Harkness

Next up on the list in spotlighting the amazing women that work at augustwenty is Phyllis Miller. The quote I chose to kickoff this spotlight is NOT by accident in referencing Phyllis. She is the essence of a great attitude, work ethic, and amazing character. With her mom as a role model inspiring and teaching her good work ethic, independence, organization, to finish what you start and to always treat people with respect and kindness. It is no wonder that Phyllis demonstrates all of these qualities and more to everyone.

Phyllis and I worked together prior to augustwenty and had stayed in touch. During a time when her job elsewhere was in flux, we had a position become available. We had a role that would offer a lot of variety which was appealing to Phyllis because she saw it as an opportunity to learn other aspects of business through researching options for processes and systems that would be needed for augustwenty—something that would also broaden her depth of knowledge and enable her to have influence on decisions being made for the future of the organization—a win-win for everyone! And as an added bonus, she would be working along many folks she had previously worked with!!

Starting as a part-time employee in the finance part of our company, we quickly discovered that we had a full time need for Phyllis. Her expertise and eagerness to learn more about accounting principles seated her at the helm of the finance side of our business, and she has also been very instrumental in helping us with the user input and testing of a financial forecasting tool we plan to release to market. Phyllis is a rockstar!

Lastly, my spotlight on Phyllis wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t make a point to share, what I believe, to be one of Phyllis’ many gifts; she is always out for the greater good of everyone and I am blessed to have her on our team!
